Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress best known for her film roles in Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She has a Bachelor's degree in African-American Studies and an MFA from Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue was born in the United States and is an American actress also known as producer and director. She works in television and film. Her acting career started in the theater. Then she appeared on various television series, independent films and mainstream film. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and appeared on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes for which she not only received praise from critics but also received a host of nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Movie. She started her career acting in 1995 as Ariel on the stage in The Tempest. She's appeared on Broadway in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. Her film career is highlighted through her performances on Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Also, she is well-known for her part in ABC's crime drama High Incident.
