
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 until January 19th January 19, 2008) was an American theatre, film, television, and voice actress. Pleshette started her stage career and was in films by the late 1950s. Later, she was a prominent actor in movies such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). Later, she appeared in many television productions and was frequently a guest actor. She was Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show, 1972-1978, which earned her several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City on the 31st of January of 1937. Her parents were Jewish and descendants of immigrants from Russia, Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was stage director for the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, and the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
