tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27th, 1976. He was raised in the southern part of California, and attended Huntington Beach High School where he was a top player on both football and basketball teams. Gonzalez continued to excel in these sports at University of California, Berkeley. He played a key role in leading the team's football team to 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record in the school for receptions with nine, and beat it. Gonzalez helped lead the basketball team into the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament just a few months after. He then left school for the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs chose Gonzalez as their 13th overall selection. Gonzalez was part of the Chiefs from 1997 until 2008. The Chiefs dealt Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. After his second year in the NFL, he never caught less than 59 passes during a season.
